Our charges includes Dr. Nezami's surgery charge, the charge for an MD anesthesiologist, operating room charges, implants and follow up. Our consultation charge is 80.00 which will be applied toward your surgery if you decide to proceed with the surgery.

Size of Breast Implants – Type of Breast Implants – Shape of the Breast Implants
Dr. Nezami will discuss all of your concerns and desires regarding the size of your breasts. If you have photos of breasts similar to those you would like to have, we encourage you to bring them in; however,  it is important to realize that each person’s chest shape, muscles, skin tone and breasts are different. Dr. Nezami will discuss all these factors with you to help you determine the right breast Implants for you.

Ultimately, only you can decide on the size of your Breast implants. Each person has her own preference and taste. This has to be entirely your decision. Keep in mind that your anatomy and tissue may not allow placement of very large breast implants, and that larger breasts sag faster than smaller breasts.

Dr. Nezami will make sure that you know before your breast surgery what breast implants he will use to give you the best result.

There are different options available for breast implants. Dr. Nezami will explain the differences between textured breast implants and smooth breast implants. You will be shown samples of saline and silicone breast implants as well as round moderate profile breast implants, moderate plus profile breast implants, high profile breast implants and anatomical or teardrop shaped breast implants. He will explain the pro and cons of each type of implant. Dr. Nezami has years of experience with breast surgery and many happy patients with excellent results. He will use this experience to advise you on what he thinks the best choice would be for you, but the final decision should be entirely yours.

Placement of Breast Implants
Another decision that you and Dr. Nezami will make together is whether to place your breast implants above or below the muscles of your chest. Dr. Nezami will explain to you how your personal anatomy must guide this choice. The clinical studies indicate that placing the breast implants below the pectoralis muscle decreases the capsular contracture. Also it is believed that placing the breast implants under the muscles will improve the imaging of the breast tissue during mammography. In the long run placement of breast implants under the muscles will result in more natural look.

Preparing for your Breast Augmentation Surgery
We advise our patients in Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach and Ponte Vedra to avoid taking certain medications such as aspirin and Ibuprofen and vitamin E two weeks before surgery. If they are smokers, we advise our patients to stop smoking at least three weeks before the surgery, as smoking interferes with blood flow to the skin and prevents the rapid healing of the incision. On your pre-operation consultation, you will be given specific and detailed instructions.

The incision for the Breast Implants
The incision for Breast Implant surgery can be in the crease below the breasts or around the lower half of the areola.

Most of our Breast Augmentation patients in Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach and Ponte Vedra prefer to have the incision in the crease below the breasts.

Scarring of Breast Surgery
Keep in mind that every person heals differently. In general, the scarring is minimal; however, even with the application of perfect suturing techniques, every person may scar diffently. There are a number of products on the market that can help the tissue to heal better and faster, such as vitamin E, Mederma creams Cortisone creams, and silicone sheets.

Duration of Breast Augmentation Surgery
Depending on the placement of the breast implants and the patient’s anatomy, breast augmentation usually takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours.

Breast augmentation is performed in our Jacksonville Cosmetic Surgery Center. Our surgical suite is accredited by the American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities,Inc. How painful is Breast Augmentation?
This is a frequent question asked by our patients in Jacksonville and Jacksonville Beach. Breast Augmentation stretches the tissues, and this can be painful. When the breast implants are placed under the muscles, the pain might be a bit more. The pain is most felt the first two days, after that, the pain lessens everyday. In any case, the pain can be controlled through medications. We ask our patients in Jacksonville and Jacksonville Beach to have someone to drive them home and help them for the first two days after surgery.

Recovery period after Breast Augmentation
To help your healing processes after Breast Augmentation, avoid stretching the muscles around the breast implants.

For three weeks you should avoid raising your elbows higher than your armpit. You will have a pink scar for several weeks, which will start to fade gradually after several months. You can start to work after the first week as long as your work does not involve lifting of heavy objects. The stitches will be taken out within five days. After breast surgery because of swelling and tightness of soft tissue, your breasts may seem unnatural. This is only temporary; gradually your breasts will soften and they will have a natural feel. You can start exercising after three weeks. Keep in mind that the recovery period varies from patient to patient.

Candidates for Breast Augmentation
If you are considering Breast Augmentation, you must be at least 18 years old, in good health, and not pregnant or nursing. There is no age limit to have breast augmentation. If you are 50 years of or older, don’t think that you are too old for breast augmentation You may still be a good candidate, especially if the augmentation is done in conjunction with a  breast lift.
