Laser IPL Brown Age Spot Treatment

IPL Photofacial – Treatment of Sun Spot, Freckles, age spots, pigmented lesions:

Photofacial is a preventive, anti aging procedure that utilizes advanced pulse light technology to remove a variety of skin imperfections and slow down the aging process. In our Jacksonville Cosmetic Surgery Center, we use Lux G Palomar pulsed light hand piece to treat pigmented lesions. This smooth pulsed technology can safely deliver optimally filtered wavelengths of pulsed light to clear pigmented lesions with superior patient comfort with results as good as or better than the single application "gold standard" lasers. Specially filtered bands of light target the melanin in pigmented lesions, where the light is converted into heat. This heating selectively destroys the pigmented lesion, which is sloughed away, clearing the lesion within two weeks. Large areas of the body can be treated with little discomfort and with no downtime. Most skin type can be treated safely. Photo rejuvenation is effective on the face, arms, chest, and other large body areas. Damaged caused by years of sun exposure can be removed with no downtime. Our treatment provider will move the Starlux G hand piece over your skin, pulsing it all the while. Each pulse will send a beam of light through your skin. A flashing light, an audible tone, and a mild sensation on the skin will tell you when the hand piece is being pulsed. Immediately after treatment, you can expect mild sunburn like sensation, possibly accompanied by some minor swelling. This usually lasts 2 to 24 hours, and can be soothed with cold gel or ice pack. The sun spots sun damaged areas treated will darken within a few hours and flakes off in about a week.
